3 Reasons Why You Should Never Give Up

So, if you’ve had a couple of minutes to read my biography on the website, you’ll know I left my previous career because of illness. Not dwelling on that part, but it did give me a kick in the backside. But how on earth do you decide to it’s time to follow the dream? I’ve been asked that a few times. The answer is, I’m actually quite a stubborn person and once I have an idea I love, I will pursue it. But the real question is, what do you do? Sadly, I can’t answer that for you, only you will know that.

Here’s a story though, which might help. When I was little, I loved gymnastics. Everything about it, doing it, watching it, in the garden, at school break time – I was always upside down. Every time I sprained my ankles, it wouldn’t deter me (although it would mean Mum taking me to the Doctor’s). I joined a club at one of the many places we lived at (military child) and that was it for me. Obsession at another level. I rarely missed a session and the one competition I entered the club with, I won my age group and the overall trophy! Then I hit 14 years old, we moved again and for some reason, I decided I was too old to be doing gymnastics. And it wasn’t until I was approximately 35 years old (trying to recover from the stroke) and decided to join a local gymnastics club with sessions for older people, that I realised what a mistake I had made. Now, I’m definitely past it, quite clumsy, can still do the splits, chipped a bone in my finger doing something I shouldn’t, but I still love being on my hands and swinging or climbing on to something.

My point is, I honestly believe if I had really applied myself, I would have been a gymnast without a doubt. But it wasn’t for this lifetime. So instead, I chose the only other obsession I had that rolled on for years until I couldn’t ignore it. Creating a fashion brand. And now I’ve never been happier. I drive my day, my business and my life.

So herein lieth a lesson, connect with yourself within and in doing so, you can manifest your life as you wish it to be. But it’s not as simple as that is it. Success is only as you perceive it to be, so for me it means being able to build something that will provide employment and support for charities. I just choose that to be through my favourite thing…fashion. So, make the inner connection, believe in your SELF and commit. I would advise reading around meditation as an option to help you with this.

I’m not saying you have to start a business. Just get into it - the subject matter, the vocation, just do it. The question is, why wouldn’t you now?
